1A

Welcome to Class 1A - Mrs Shane Allen

‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’

Our class is a Stage 1 class made up in of 10 girls and 13 boys. We have spent the first few weeks getting to know each other and building our class culture. We are known as 1 Awesome and we are becoming very good at encouraging others and having a go.

I look forward to working with each and every student and their families as we continue on this educational journey.

1A timetable

Monday: Library with Mrs Duke, Wellbeing with Mrs Maroney. Homework will go home.

Tuesday: Scripture, History with Mrs Maroney

Friday: Sport. Students are required to wear their sports uniform on a Friday.  Assembly (even weeks). Please return homework

Fruit Break: Each morning we have fruit break while exploring our Word of the Day. Please include a piece of fruit that is easy to eat in your child’s lunch box each day.

Homework: Students have been given the homework matrix in their homework folder for this term.  Each week there is a short mathematics task to complete and a wide range of options for spelling activities.  Lots of reading at home is a big focus for the students in 1A. If your child is having difficulties with the homework, please encourage them to come and see me.

Class incentives:  Class DOJO is used as the reward system where students are acknowledged for having a go, working as a team and helping others.  They are also expected to follow the school’s core values of Respect, Responsibility, Excellence and Resilience.

Absences: When your child returns from any form of absence, please ensure that a written note of explanation or an online submission is given upon return to school. This is a legal requirement.

Parent communication:
Our main source of communication is through Sentral Parent Portal. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thank you,

Mrs Allen
