Welcome to Class 3R - Ms Melissa Richards
Welcome everybody to your child’s first year as part of the Primary section of Tuggerah public School. I am really excited to be back teaching year 3 and I am familiar with many families in our class this year. We have quite a big class, comprising of 16 boys and 13 girls. Our students are from different backgrounds, have different skills and bring different personalities to our classroom. All of the children have settled in well and are learning the new routines of primary. Below is some information that may help you plan your child’s week to ensure we all have a successful year at school.
- Library – Library day is Tuesday with Mrs Duke. Students are encouraged to bring their labelled library bag every Tuesday and borrow books to enjoy at home. These books will be required to be returned the following week.
- RFF – RFF is a period of time when the classroom teacher is relieved from face to face teaching to complete programming, testing etc. 3R will have Mrs Maroney on Mondays between 11:30am and 12:30pm, where they will be learning important reading skills associated with locating information in text, as well as focusing on well-being activities.
- Sport – 3R will have sport on a Friday between 10am and 11am. Please ensure that your child is wearing their sports uniform, has appropriate footwear on, brings their hat and water bottle.
- Homework – Homework will be handed out on Mondays and returned to school for marking on Fridays. Please also find a few minutes each day to read with your child.
- Scripture/non-scripture – On a Tuesday the whole school participates in scripture or non-scripture classes for 30 minutes.
I’m really looking forward to working with the students of 3R and their families this year. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need anything.
