Welcome to 2019!
This year, I will be sharing the role as a Music Teacher for students in ES1, St 1 and some Stage 2 classes. Mrs Mallie-Maharta will also be teaching Music to students in Stage 2 & 3 classes. The lessons will be taught using a combination of activities from Music Room and Vocal ease. It is exciting to be working with the students to enable them to develop new skills. Music is a wonderful subject and enhances so many other areas.
Music helps to build students’ confidence, improve concentration and is enjoyed by everyone regardless of age. There is a musician in us all!
Music is a Science, is mathematical, a foreign language, History, Physical Education, develops insight, demands research, is an Art, a form of Literacy as it is a form of reading. Music affects people in a variety of ways and allows students to develop skills in other areas without even realising it.
This year I will be working with the Whales class for one day a week as well as teaching Personal Development and Health, Mathematics, Literacy to the ES1, St 1, St 2 classes in addition to Music.
I look forward to an interesting, exciting and adventurous 2019.
