1/2A

Welcome to 1/2A

‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’

Our class is a Stage 1 class made up in of 9 girls and 16 boys. We have spent the first few weeks getting to know each other and building our class culture. We are known as 1/2 Awesome and we are becoming very good at encouraging others and having a go.

I look forward to working with each and every student and their families as we continue on this educational journey.

 1/2A timetable

Monday: Library with Mrs Duke, Music with Mrs Maroney. Homework will go home.

Tuesday: Scripture, Science with Mrs Mackay

Wednesday: History/Geography with Mrs Maroney.

Friday: Sport. Students are required to wear their sports uniform on a Friday.  Assembly will be even weeks. Please return homework

Fruit Break: Each morning we have fruit break while exploring our Word of the Day. Please include a piece of fruit that is easy to eat in your child’s lunch box each day.

Homework: Students will use a homework matrix for this term.  Lots of reading at home is a big focus for the students in 1/2A. If your child is having difficulties with the homework, please encourage them to come and see me.

Class incentives: Class DOJO, Thumbs Up, House points and the classroom visual reward chart is used as the reward system where students are acknowledged for having a go, working as a team and helping others.  They are also expected to follow the school’s core values of Respect, Responsibility, Excellence and Resilience.

Absences: When your child is absent from school, we ask that you reply to the school text message with a reason for their absence. This will stop unnecessary telephone calls to be made. An explanation is needed as this is a legal requirement.

Parent communication:
Our main source of communication is through Sentral Parent Portal. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me via this avenue.

Thank you,

Mrs Allen
